2009 Parade Route and Information

PARADE DATE: March 14, 2009
 
TIME: Steps off at 10 a.m., generally lasts until 1:30 or 2 p.m.
 
ROUTE: Starts at Coors Field parking lot, steps off at 27th and Blake, Blake west to 17th, 17th to Wynkoop, Wynkoop back to Coors Field.

VIEWING: Anywhere along the route is a good spot, or you can watch on KTVD/MY20 from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on parade afternoon

PARKING: Street parking is prohibited on the parade route, but plenty of parking lots are available on near-by streets.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION: Light rail and RTD busses run to the Union Station and parade route areas. Visit the RTD site for route information. Remember that the trains fill up on parade morning so allow yourself plenty of time.    To visit RTD LINK click here

REMEMBER: Colorado weather is unpredictable so dress in layers. Remember to use sunscreen and drink plenty of water.

 
Parade Entry Staging Information
 

FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS GIVEN BY DSPDPC MARSHALS

 33rd & Blake St. Entrance
  • Gate will open at 8:00 a.m.
  • Gate leads to Coors Field Parking Lots “B” & “C”—staging area
  • Vehicles that are actually entered into Parade
  • Equestrian Units
  • Participants that are dropping off equipment, supplies, etc. to Parade vehicles
  • Participants that are being dropped off at their staging address 
 

Coors Field Parking Lots “B” & “C”

  • Cork St.—access road to Equestrian Division Staging
  • Dublin St.—staging street & area for Honorary and Second Division
  • Limerick St.—staging street & area for First and Third Division
  • There are large overhead signs at the North & South end of these streets
  • Check-in Marshals are located at the North street sign of Dublin & Limerick Sts.
  • Unit numbers and street addresses are provided in entry packets
  • All participants of your entry must know Unit number & Street address
  • There are general Unit numbers on Dublin & Limerick St. to get you close to your staging area
  • There are Marshals on both Dublin & Limerick St. to stage your entry in the proper position

Park Ave. & Wazee Entrance

  • Gate will open at 8:00 a.m.
  • Gate leads to Coors Field Parking Lot “A”—parking area
  • Parking is on first come, first served basis
  • Participants that DON’T have their vehicle entered into the Parade, i.e., all marchers, dancers, float riders, band members that are going to park and leave their vehicle while they participant in Parade
 27th & Blake Entrance
  • GATE WILL BE OPENED AT 10:00 A.M. TO START PARADE
  • GATE IS THE EXIT FROM STAGING AREA TO PARADE ROUTE
  • NO VEHICLES WILL BE ALLOWED TO ENTER THIS GATE
  • Pedestrian only traffic is allowed to enter. Be aware, you will have to climb over or go under arms of gate.
